Ohio Bureau of Workers' Compensation – Safety Council Rebate Program

Once again, the Ohio Bureau of Workers' Compensation (BWC) is partnering with Safety Councils to provide state funded employers with a money saving opportunity. The Program formerly called the Safety Council Discount Incentive Program has been renamed the Safety Council Rebate Program. This Program will be conducted the same as last year’s Program with one exception. You cannot participate in the Safety Council Rebate Program if you are participating in the BWC’s Group Rating Program. This will be the 5th year that the BWC offers this Program. Hundreds of our members were enrolled in last year’s Program and all together they received more than $1,438,200 back from the BWC. Our Safety Council Members collectively received the highest amount of money paid out than any other Council in the state. Were you in that number? If not, why not?

This year's Program runs from July 1, 2009 through June 30, 2010. You must fulfill all of the requirements to successfully complete the Program. Please click here to view the enclosures issued by the BWC.

Please view the BWC material and consider enrolling in this Program because the benefits to you are many-fold. First and foremost, you can receive money back from the BWC which serve as a savings in your workers’ compensation costs. Secondly, you will actively participate in our Safety Council by attending monthly meetings that are informative and helpful. This information can help you increase safety awareness within your organization that will help reduce injuries and lost-time. Also when you attend our meetings, you will have the opportunity to network with others which can be a very valuable and helpful resource.

In these difficult financial times when you are looking for every available dollar to supplement your strained budget, this Program can be an additional source of revenue.
